Rhoda over at Southern Hospitality is having a Thrifty Treasures party - so head on over and check out all of the awesome things other great bloggers have found! This is my first time linking up to any sort of party, so I hope I do it the right way! :)
It was a slow garage sale weekend here due to the torrential downpours! Everything was flooded out and I only saw a few people braving the storm in their tents - so the husband and I headed to a few local thrift stores to check out what they had and came away with a few cute things!
$1.00 cheese platter - (not sure what I plan to do with it yet!!)$20.00 Wooden PB style chair - This is one of my favorite finds!! It's a super old, heavy chair stained in black that looks just like the pottery barn ones that retail for $399! They recently put on new casters so it rolls awesome and it's so comfy!
$2.00 - 2 Ball/Atlas jars. Aren't they cute?
.49 silver serving platter type thing
.49 old Ball Jar
$1.00 vintage metal card catalog
$18.00 old, white washed chest. This is another favorite find - the asking price was $25.00 but I snagged it for $18.00. I thought it was a bit pricey, but I loved the aged paint job so I figured the price was worth not to have to repaint it!
$4.00 Huge wooden frame with beach print. I'm not sure if I'm going to leave the print or paint over it with chalkboard paint to use in my craft room. The picture is pretty, but the quality is not that great.
That's it for me! I am still on the hunt for a great "sewing desk" for my craft room - hopefully with a little luck I'll be sharing that next time around!

You have some great finds there! LOVE the PB style chair and the white old looking 'chest'.
ReplyDeleteAs for the cheese platter. I would use it like a cloche and put something inside of it (not sure what, but something that goes w/ your decor). and what are you going to do w /the platter? I just got one the other day that I posted about earlier. I think I may try it tonight. :)
thanks for sharing

Kristen, that black chair is a steal. I love that style, what a deal on that. You really got some nice stuff. How many cheese platters like that have I seen around blogland. A bunch, I'll tell ya! :) Thanks for joining the party this week.
ReplyDeleteKristen, you found some wonderful things! I too have seen many of those cheese platters around here. I saw someone paint theirs and cut a piece of pretty scrap book paper for the bottom. It turned out really cute. She put it in her bathroom and planned on putting fun soaps inside. Don’t remember where I saw it though. I’m on the hunt for one of those cheese platters now too!
ReplyDeleteLove the chair and chest. You really got some terrific deals!

I {heart} the chair! Great find!

Absolutely LOVE the white chest! I couldn't have passed that up either!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. PB claiming to be the 'source' for old designs just drives me nuts. My dad had an office chair like that, oh 45 years ago...way before PB...and I sure wish I still had it. It's great. And that's not a cheese platter. It's a 'cloche' with base :D
ReplyDeleteYou did so well with your finds ! I am really envious of you for that chair ! I love it !!!!!

p.s. I added my name to follow you cuz-you are my type of shopping gal !
We live in upstate NY and the pickings were very thin this weekend due to the rain(downpours). I hope that this weekend will be better and nice score on everything especially the chair!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else, I love the chair. I like the beach print, too. You could do a lot with it! Thanks for checking out my blog!
